If you know me, by now you are well aware that I am part of a MAD (Make A Difference) fundraising initiative called MAD2Run, whereby 36 of us will be running from Johannesburg to Cape Town over 7 days. That’s a total of 1520km in 7 days.
We are using our feet for a great feat. This initiative started in support of the MAD leadership foundation. Their mission is to develop academically talented scholars with leadership potential into future leaders for South Africa. The bottom line, a sentiment shared by all on this journey, is that we want to make south Africa a better place. We all love our country and are MAD enough to believe we can change our country. As the saying goes:
“The people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world are the ones who do.”
How is this all made possible?
While the initiative attracts like-minded individuals that are all super passionate about this cause, we still look to each and every one of our family members, friends, colleagues, acquaintances and other connections to be part of this journey. Without the general public this project would not be possible. We require all sorts of sponsorship ranging from the necessities we need on the road such as food, medical support, transport etc. to larger donations that will enable another scholar to get an education and the support that they need.
What’s in it for you?
You may look to this initiative and ask what you would be getting out of it in return, it’s only human nature to do so. The purpose of this post is to address exactly that question in hopes that it will spark an interest for you to join the movement.
First let’s look to the different options of how you can be a apart of the journey:
1. You can make a donation
2. Join one of our upcoming events
3. Become a Sponsor
